GREEK GOD/GODDESS PROJECT
Greek 1,2,3,5 Project
You must choose activities that equal a total of 10 points. Doing more than 10 points for extra credit is not an option!
One Point Activities
Y COMPARE and CONTRAST ANCIENT GREECE to ANCIENT ROME - Students can create a poster, paragraph form OR power point
Y CREATE an ENCOMIUM (which is a tribute to a mythological hero) - Select a hero from the list. Identify the hero's background, adventures, and admirable qualities in written form and create an award (such as a trophy, medal, certificate, etc...) to award to the hero.
Y COUNT LIKE a GREEK - Complete a few math sheets that teach how to count in Greek. As a final activity you will create five math problems and answer them, all in Greek.
Y READER'S THEATER- Present a Reader's theater for the class
Two Point Activity This Activity is a REQUIRMENT
Y Celebrates your god/goddess - Create a shield, poster, poem, or song (any style).
Three Point Activities
Y GREAT GREEKS - Select 3 and list the following information: Date of birth and death, where they lived, family information, area of expertise and greatest accomplishment, and how this individual has affected modern society. You may choose to show this information by creating a poster collage that includes all three on one poster OR writing a paragraph on each Greek OR by creating a found poem that includes the required information
Y COMPARE and CONTRAST Athens and Sparta - Students create a story board which depicts life in Sparta and life in Athens
Y GREEK GOD/GODDESS Interview Show - A host or hostess will interview various Greek god/goddess in a talk show format. You will need to submit the questions and answers in written form after the interviews.
Y Heroic Heracles -You can create a mini booklet and create pictures on the various labor of Heracles. In addition you can choose to complete a conflict sheet and an evaluation sheet on Heracles’ journeys.
Four Point Activity This Activity is a REQUIRMENT
Y GREEK GOD and GODDESS Fashion Show - Students will create a costume that depicts their god/goddess. You must come dressed in your costume on Feb. 25, the day of the Greek Festival.
Myth Writing
Create a Myth- A story about your God or Goddess’ life *With an illustration
*Myths will be started in class and there may be times that students will be responsible for working on them at home.

On Friday, February, 25 we will have a Greek God and Goddess Extravaganza!
You will:
Dress up
You will come to school dressed as your new self – the Greek god or goddess.
Present your treasures
Shield, poster, poem, or song
PLUS...have a fully catered GREEK FEAST!!! :)
